Adversity should help sharpen the mind
…and character
The obstacles we face in life shouldn’t scare us
…or beat us into submission
But they should offer an opportunity to learn
…and refine our skills

The storms that lay ahead
Regardless of the vessel we sail on
May seem overwhelming
Stressful or even taxing at times
But it is really within our own reaction and choices
Where the true power lies

To cultivate resilience in my journey
I must think of growth and development
Recognizing that adversity is a harsh teacher
It will test me measuring the true length of my strength
So that when I face difficulties
With courage
I will rise
Like reinforced steel
Having endured the fire that molded me
Ready to face any trepidation that comes my way
