Hope
Abused child
the misery shows
thinking of the past
born in a prison
with no piece of mind
runs to the light
hopeful dreams
tomorrow's a new beginning

Dear K,
A poem of epic proportion with an economy of words. Hope, for me, can be disappointing and elating at the same time and yet as humans it’s something we cling to. I really appreciated the depths in this write. It puts into perspective the range we can carry. Thoughtful write. Well done. H🌷

Hello Honoria,
Thank you so much for the comments and the kind words on this poem. Hope is a double edged sword. In this situation, that was all the person had to escape this living hell.

Almost like a segway or transition in a plot to start an adventure, heh. I find hopeful inspiration in this. Each line packs enough punch to put the overall picture into perspective. Sometimes, life hurts and sucks, but there is always hope. Some people have come from the worst to be the best. Not only that, but there are forms of triumph that go beyond comprehension. It's always good to be optimistic looking forward. It's also good to be thankful, and not take things for granted. For me, it's knowing there is forgiveness. Anyway, the writing here reminds me of such principality. Thanks for sharing!
