Weary and Tired

I am tired and weary of shouldered burdens
my soul is weary of the disappointments
and matters I cannot openly confide
its like a stone necklace or a heavy crown

life's trial faced full of adrenalin
wears me out and cast shadows
in my days a badly written poem
on old parchments full of scratches

I was graced with love's tender touch
once upon a time and in the past
green and yellow tinted the windows
of the soul and solace and peace departed

dreams are uncharted wishes mere words
akin to puffs of energy in the morning air
the vast sea of many possibilities
becomes mere lingering shimmers

Friends fade into the mist of apathy
they don't have time for sympathy
when joy suffused, they were true friends
without which they were hollow and empty

I am weary of being weary
having to smile through illness and pain
darkest night with tears to endure
betters days applying a resilient spirit

in all its weight and strain my weariness
forge me a hopeful spirit
I will find my way through the maze
with tenacity and perseverance
