Autonomy

Shrieking Jim Crow ten times in a row  
weighs nothing new on the justice scales  
or which high courts hear the banshee wails  
which ofttimes ring hollow to and fro  
along rusting rails of broken thought,  
savaging themselves more than Sherman's march  
to where the locomotive steam will parch  
and bring the mind train motion all to naught  
in manumission worthy hue and cry.  
 
Thus lone vehemence won't carry the day  
when the Ku Klux Klan is having its way  
in hanging strange fruit from a branch on high,  
 
so smelt your steel and knit your rails  
to see more motion where thought prevails.
