celebrating International Woman's Day! A poem:

Hear me roar
As quietly as a lioness
With the same finesse
So fine
The empty shadows
That fall
On empty walls
Of long forgotten heroines
Obscured by those
That censored the books
That have dug in the hooks
Of control
Yet the lionesses
That labour on
As the sweet song
Of equality lingers
Poised, and poignant
Elegant, and civilised
Human, and humane
Controlled
By the will of some men
Again
And again, and again
Adore the roar
This is what we should all strive for
