Dear You, Sincerely Me (1)
Dear you,
At night I lie awake and think about the stars, how wonderful it would be to touch them and how amazingly beautiful they are. I think of you as I think of them, the beautiful soul you have.... Had. So innocent, so pure, so perfect. How is it possible for the stars to remind me so much of the past? The heartbreaks, the deaths, the lies, and all the little imperfections that make everyone and everything so perfect.
I look at the roses that are there, all shriveled up. They remind me of a night of terror, a night I will never forget, the pain, the agony, and the long hours. How we all wished you would have survived. That night was the most tragic night.
The beeping haunts me; I heard the familiar sound just yesterday. Images replay like nightmares and then everything fades to black. Out of the darkness is a single light. Yet another image floods my mind. The light turns to day and soon I realize what it is.... The train.... The horn honks and scares you as I watch from the side lines, screaming and yelling for you to move, yet you can do nothing. God has given you the chance to live then slowly took you away in such a painful and tragic way.
Dear you, I swear I love you.
Sincerely me.
