A Seagulls' View
To be a seagull
Floating
Along the silver grey sky
Clouds looming
Darkening
Yet the sullen earth
Remains dry
Yet unpredictably sly
Snaking along
In a quickening breeze
The seagull
Flaps, and flutters
As it sees what it sees
As the spilt remnants
Of discarded tourist food
Snapped up
Without so much as a thank you
Seagulls can be very rude!

They can also swallow rats whole, as once witnessed from my sunny window at about 7am, just as the golden sun was rising. One also nicked my doughnut back in St.Ives in the summer of 1992, as I holidayed there. I have never forgiven the gull for that! 🍥 🕊

ive seen seagulls 'mugging' tourists every summer, and when i was married, we were in the lake district, and had taken a picnic, i unpacked as me my partner and daughter were ready to eat, just as a 'gang' of seagulls attacked us, is was like a clip from the Hitchcock The Birds! i told them to run, as i threw pieces of bread at the gulls, as i packed everything else away, and we ran back to lake windemere, feeling relieved that we'd got away, but just as we thought we were safe, a duck pecked the toes of my partner! that bit was quite funny! (:
