Listening to voices

I hear them all the time
Teasing, tempting, enticing
Telling me I'll feel better
While their true intentions are hiding

I know what's going on
I wasn't born yesterday
My mistakes are plenty
My wrongs always here to stay

These thoughts confuse me
I want to do right
But they have other ideas
Blinding my sight

Tonight I'll be wallowing
In my most loathsome thoughts
Praying to God
That I don't get caught

Cursing my sickening self
For falling for the trap
Listened to myself
Now I feel like crap

Got to block out the evil
It's everywhere I turn
Listening to God
Is the most important thing to learn
