Brighter
Saw you in a dream last night
House full of strangers
Flickering bulbs devoid of light
Something seemed off
You lazily smiled
Blank eyes told me the cause
Concern meshed with my wasted mind
I woke thinking I'd see you soon
But your future was reassigned
Death came calling without warning
Years of friendship
Replaced with a lifetime of mourning
It was good to see you while I slept
Seems you were sending me a reminder
Ten years since your last breath
A reminder...
To live in a world that's a little brighter
And to never stop being a fighter
Still miss you Z.M.
House full of strangers
Flickering bulbs devoid of light
Something seemed off
You lazily smiled
Blank eyes told me the cause
Concern meshed with my wasted mind
I woke thinking I'd see you soon
But your future was reassigned
Death came calling without warning
Years of friendship
Replaced with a lifetime of mourning
It was good to see you while I slept
Seems you were sending me a reminder
Ten years since your last breath
A reminder...
To live in a world that's a little brighter
And to never stop being a fighter
Still miss you Z.M.
