Job Daze

It’s not the work
to make ends

meet that makes
you a Poet.

It’s what you make
that doesn’t pay,

never will,

probably won’t
even be read much.

Yet pennies must be made,
and making them

is a museless panegyric
to necessity.

Just as buying time for
rhyme and rhythm

is a consonant
clinking of coins.
