This little word called always
Always do your best
Always give 100%
Just do it
And do it always
I hate this nonsense
“Always” and real life humans don’t match
That there is anything outside of breathing that humans “always” do
Is nothing but a marketing slogan
It is pure fiction
You will not always do your best
You will not always be happy
Or even content or optimistic
You will not always “just do it”
Sometimes you will procrastinate
And sometimes you will be lazy
And sometimes you will not be inspired
Sometimes you’ll even outright hate what you do
If you manage to do your best most of the time you’re pretty good
No one measures up to their own standards all the time
Sometimes you’ll even outright screw up
Excellence isn’t “always”
Excellence is “as often as possible”
Don’t worry about always
Perfect consistency is something for machines
And you are not a machine
The only thing you can always do
Is try

Sometimes in life we will not measure up to the standards we set for ourselves. Be that yelling at our kids when we don’t mean to or making a mistake at work. The point is not to excuse those things, but rather to realize that these things are gonna happen and that the only thing we can do is try to minimize the number of times that they happen. Perfection is impossible, but it is possible to make an honest effort.

We are human being s after all; and mistakes can " always " happen as long as we are not cloned humanoids, or robots acting at button push....
