Sunflowers

I find sunflowers beautiful.
The way they look at the sun.
And their bright,yellow color.

As the shines on them
Caressing their petals.
You reach your hand to grab one.

But you feel somebody's hand brush against yours.
The feeling of an old friend's hand.
You look up,to see who it is.

And you recognize that smile.
A smile,so warm.
So friendly,with no harm.

You call out their name.
And they call out yours.
As you share a warm embrace.

You hug them,as your hearts race.
Happy tears streaming down your face.
It seems sunflowers brought us together.

When we were kids,we sang friendship is forever.
We may have chosen different paths.
But sunflowers brought us together this warm, sunday afternoon.

You catch up with them as flowers around you bloom.
The sun goes down, and you see the moon.
Shiny, stars on the big black ink.

You look at it together, and you begin to think.
Did the sunflowers bring us together?
Or is it ,because we once sang friendship and love is forever?

Whatever it is,I missed their face.
And especially your voice, since we separated ways.
Our memories are not gone forever.

They will always burn in our minds.
And be the lights at the darkest of nights.
Remembering such incredible sights.

We were once kids, now we are all grown up.
And still, our childhood self is still alive.
It's always there, even if we left it behind.
