Collapsing
Verse 1
I worry for you, you being my brother
unable to breathe, the world crushing you
making it hard to speak the words you need to say
I just hope and pray,
you find yourself, somewhere with a breeze
to finally at last feel at ease.
Chorus
The world is never going to be the way you need
perfect isn't a thing we can feed
collapsing into yourself, like you always have,
smile and making friends,
but always feeling your knees bend
as you forget to stand tall
waiting on someone to call
Verse 2
You've got so many stories
of the motherland and her glories
all your travels far and wide
bringing you to the brink of collapsing inside
not one to make a spectacle of yourself
you hide your heart high, high on the shelf
Chorus
Verse
They trained you to kill,
they forgot to teach you how to feel
army green, black cloud thoughts
seeking a peace that cannot be bought
here we sit, drinks in hand, you and I
collapsing together, lie after lie
Chorus
I worry for you, you being my brother
unable to breathe, the world crushing you
making it hard to speak the words you need to say
I just hope and pray,
you find yourself, somewhere with a breeze
to finally at last feel at ease.
