Healing Love

As Jennifer pressed her lips against Reggie's, she was transported back twenty years to a time of brokenness. She’d planned to end her life but found unexpected solace in Reggie's kindness. He became her anchor pulling her from the depths of despair.

Today, as their lips met in their familiar dance, Jennifer knew her husband's favorite expression of gratitude. And so, when Reggie's hand touched the side of her thigh, her legs spread easily across their marriage bed, happy to accept his incoming love.

Author's Note
My friend, Jennifer, and her husband, Reggie, recently celebrated twenty years together. While visiting with Jennifer recently, she told me how close she'd come to ending her life before meeting Reggie. I tried to imagine this short scene in their bedroom.
