I'm nervous, for multiple reasons,
money, first times, the holiday seasons
yet you joke and make light
and with every giggle my heart takes flight.
I want to be short and terse
but you remind me that it's tiny in the universe
and keep me going long after I've given up,
your love and gentle shoves refill my cup
giving me much needed resolve
I'm finding it hard to not dissolve
into your beautiful smile and bad intentions,
but you know me as if I were your invention
front and back it seems,
happiness from your presence bulging my seams
until at long last I relax and let go
knowing you're company is the safest bet I know.
For you, love and life haven't always been easy
but yet somehow you find a way to please me
