random thoughts at 1am...

 
why does the amount of coffee ingested
not align with the number of trips to the restroom
seriously...2 cups...
...6 trips to the potty...
...that math just sucks

where does the cursor go when it disappears off the screen
moving the mouse as much as you like
it's nowhere to be seen
then shows up when you're ready to give up
no explanation...like...
...where the hell have you been

who decided where monsters lay in wait
under the bed or in the closet...
...makes no sense
what if they're in your sock drawer
or in your pocket...disguised as lint
reach in & pull out a demon
...shudder...
think I'll still keep my toes under covers...
...just in case

how long does it take
for the scent of someone loved...
...but gone...
...to dissipate
or is it a haunting
following long after their departure
associated only with memory
allowing it to more slowly fade

which choice is the right one
when they both feel wrong
and does not choosing
create a new option
or simply redirect the path you're on
and will making the same decision
eventually come around again
a loop of action & reaction
repeatedly happening

how does my 8 pound cat
put 300 pounds of pressure
into those 2 small paws
pressing bruises into my shin
I mean...what the hell...
how does something so small
do so much damage to my skin...
