Ho Ho Ho?
The original St Nicholas
Although this may sound ridiculous
Was born 280ad, 1743 years ago
A monk, or bishop from Turkey, ho ho ho
Thus proving that Santa
Was unstuffed in Turkey
Santas history
Is a little querky
Santas first reindeer, appeared in a poem in 1821
Two years later, it had risen to eight, just for fun
116 years later
Along pops Rudolph in 1939
Thus turning the ridiculous
Into the sublime
In Scandanavia
Santa still wears green
Symbolic of trees, and nature
And the changing seasons seen
Why we see him in red
There are other reasons instead
Nothing to do with Coca Cola
That's just a rumour
It's back to his Turkish origins
And his jolly sense of humour!
