Violent marriage

The best || the worst
In me || I've seen
Like || a curse
It will || not leave

Hatred || I || had never known
Today || I share  his name
The joy || from wearing his stone
Turned || one day || to pain

I then || forsook it all
For honest || my belief
Yes || I seen the wall
But the writing || was Greek

Why || because || I knew
Worse || I had no doubt
So sure || what I would do
Easy || just stick it out

But hate || when it showed
My pride || it devoured
Fear || took hold
I proved || a coward

He left me || for dead
But forgot || to kill me
He gifted || me trauma
I found || recovery

Only one || shame is left
Stubborn || like a plague
The only thing || I regret
Are the times || I begged
