Step on the Gas
Juiced up from the heat of plutonium
creating its own power supply,
far past the heliosphere of our sun
Voyager-One speeds on to alien skies...
Launched from Florida's cape Canaveral
way back in nineteen seventy-seven,
fifteen billion miles past but still local
they've not yet reached those high gates of heaven...
More than thirty-eight thousand miles an hour
at that speed twenty thousand years will pass,
before it nears the star Alpha Centauri
unless it can somehow step on the gas.
So, I guess, I'd best not try to hold my breath
but wish, bon voyage and praise it in verse
for all I know Voyager may be the new Seth
bearing our seed on and on across the universe...

1977 was a GREAT year! I was a junior in high school and it was the life! I'm pretty certain I watched that launch ( I saw so many ). And, like MS, I also saw Star Wars! Nice poeting! Brought back memories. The good kind!

I believe in space conquest, but i deny and doubt that space is what we think is..From the relative physics. space is moving, and what we see is only light years back
space time would never be at our hand, and may be some future light years when earth takes another's planet orbit, like Mars or Venus, then may be another seed'' human seed '' exported thru LY in space..who knows, and how it will happen????
As i can thin and cogitate, There is a spot in space where human race is born, any planet revolving around that spot will generate
the human race,whatever the name is takes, but as we are terrestrial beings, it will surely take the name Earth..

Imagination is based on knowledge and scientific basics it can,
it could give virtual solutions at least until some time in the future and not much further as every thing is in perpetual motion..
all is moving changing shifting from the cocoon, till the butterfly and so .
