I’m
        Not what you expected.
          The shadow that my smile casts is too dark
          It bears the past while you crave the future
          You never noticed from a distance
          But up close it’s hard to ignore.
          So you tell me that you’re

Sorry
        And you don’t look back
        You’re not the first to be deceived
        By the mirage on the surface
        That radiates warmth and welcomes you in
        But camouflage is misleading
        And by now you know that

I’m
        The master of disguise
        Mirrors hold unrecognizable faces
        With a code that can only be cracked
        When you’re too far to turn around
        You’ve already sipped the water
        To discover it’s vinegar

        When you think you can swallow
        The acid burns-you took too long
        Trapped in a circle with no way to get out
