Unlovable
I’m
Not what you expected.
The shadow that my smile casts is too dark
It bears the past while you crave the future
You never noticed from a distance
But up close it’s hard to ignore.
So you tell me that you’re
Sorry
And you don’t look back
You’re not the first to be deceived
By the mirage on the surface
That radiates warmth and welcomes you in
But camouflage is misleading
And by now you know that
I’m
The master of disguise
Mirrors hold unrecognizable faces
With a code that can only be cracked
When you’re too far to turn around
You’ve already sipped the water
To discover it’s vinegar
Just
When you think you can swallow
The acid burns-you took too long
Trapped in a circle with no way to get out
For if you leave you know I’ll beg you to stay
Beg to stay and I’ll make you leave
This is the curse of the
