Stone and Glass
A heart of glass breaks hard and fast.
Whilst one of stone remains alone.
Both must soften if meant to last.
Yielding gently to passion shown.
Walls built from sorrows crumble slow.
Though patience guides the heart to see.
Winter memories draw bitter snow.
Peace that they melt to summer breeze.
Throw open the drapes of your soul.
That the light of love might shine in.
Taste forgiveness upon your tongue,
and speak a healing to begin.
Both glass and stone reduce to sand.
Pour through the hourglass of fate.
Each holds the otherís heart in hand.
For love alone to consummate.
