MINE

Afraid to move
Did I want some thing to happen
Did I think you would change
Did I believe if I moved
I would explode
I endured bullets, bombs, rockets,
M 80's shoved down my ears
Until I was in tears
Feared of
fearless cares
Nothing I could hear
Because we were not a pair
Invisible ropes hung me day and night
I could not fight
Drowning and unspeakable things A blind eye saw
Scars ripped me to the core
Did I think I would explode
If I walked away
What would of happened if I left
I would be alone
Someone else would give you a home
I Can't move!
Hand me your phone!
I reached out my Arms
I Surrender
"My child
Here's your suit of armor
And your helmet
This too
I render
Your sword is place at feet
I heard you when you gave in
I'm here to help you I'm your friend
I finally moved
And once I took my foot off the mine
The only thing exploded was you
So what was I afraid of
why did I stay
I wish someone told me
at that time
that a controlling man
could feel like
you're standing on a mine.
