with a Lion heart
touches the vision of fade
seeking solace I cry out

only you answered silently in the darkness
not offering what I wanted
but what I needed...honesty

truth's hope was bitter
but you understood better than I
I needed to awaken

the rushing of deep waters
your voice crash upon my conscious
speaking parables

a linguist of soul
reaching my hurt places
giving succor to my pain

edifying the woman
chastising the girl
true to form I withdrew
while you advanced

with a beautiful epiphany
a soul's grace realized
in a friend not as fickle
