I don't blame you for craving that edge
to want something
that annihilates
everything you
have ever known
as sheltered
flesh unravels
into wilderness
and regimental
bones shatter
to the floor,
I was street
enough to see
it dialating in
your pupils
as lips curl
to abstain
from that
hunger
I know
well.
