Playing with words. This little poem was prompted by a comment from a reader that held a slight tone of judgment. I'm no saint. I could blame my father's abuse, my mother's patterns of living, or my youthful indiscretions, but I accept responsibility for my shortcomings. Pic is edited heavily from a selfie.

We are not saints. I can blame society, or family lifestyles. Our reckless actions in our youth resulted from not being guided and exploited by our instincts.
But we take responsibility for our shortcomings.

I respect your frank realism and liked the way the poem rhymes. The title did remind me of the Little Mix song '"A Woman Like Me" (LM are a British group, findable on youtube.)
