Paper Boat Over A Sea Of Ink

Paper Boat And Sea Of Ink

As a child, roaming the wild
Chasing the bird, on ev'ry ride
As a child, a sling by my side
On donkeys' bare back,
On every blazing eventide

And while on Summers' hot darker nights
Under its black wing, or in the moonlight

While There was ever a creepy crawl
hours past midnight, then we'd stroll
Into barley fields, we were marauders

Sneakers at high noon, adventurers
No risk of being caught, daredevils

And when rains would pour from gutters
We build our own boats, left to float on waters
Shipshape papers, handicrafts origami
To take our wishes into the farthest sea

Inked with poetry lessons at school
Sent sailing into the streaming pools
Knowing that destination is somewhere
When they moor at some country shore

With our poetry and best wishes aboard
