Image for the poem Stir

Stir

The madman weeps for scarred remains
with eager interest reaps the present
a lock of hair
something personal
gifted off the corpse...

his prized little gifty
a songbird singing sonnets for the damned
refuses the invitation

Her lips wet with lullabies
says goodbye all too soon
you think, how dare the tart?

Impertinent woman with childlike wonder
is it any wonder you dislike her
A door a jar
peek a boo
then she's gone again

No mortal can claim her
the sweet surrender of this darkling
is reserved for the almighty

With no tears spilled in your regard
a child of Tartarus smiles
what is claimed by the devil

Shall stand

Stained regret
be happy with the pain you've already met
