Canyonlands National Park
What a waste to not wish on an asteroid
In Utah on a cold autumn night
Three shooting stars and counting
Every wish of course was for you
You would have hated this adventure
You liked nicer things
I liked you.
You liked the taste of long aged wine
The rarest 96 Lafite
I just liked watching your happiness
It’s funny because I loved the things
That made you beam and play
But you never liked what I liked
You never liked the wilderness
And family traditions, it never satisfied you
You needed luxury and status
You needed it to be this way
I spend days asking myself
why you wouldn't see
the beauty in family, stars and nature
I want you to come home
But to be a little different
I wished on the asteroid for you
To like what I like, just a little more
I wish you were here but
Only if you could be in awe
Of the Canyonlands National park
The great boulders and arches
Giant blue streams and endless switchbacks
I am in awe of this place and wish
so badly, that you liked it too.
