“Likes”

I’m not on social media at all. I was on Instagram once for a few months but that’s it. The closest I come to social media is DUP. I admit that out of curiosity I  have checked my stats here and there, but they are mostly meaningless to me. I lose out on a lot of info not being connected socially through a digital world, but I don’t need the headache. I prefer my life to be as simple as possible. Human contact is much, much  more important to me and my well being.

Certainly a healthy attitude. I am not a huge social media user and have been less active recently. I do check stats on DUP even though it really doesn’t bring joy. I have really enjoyed the connections through comments and DMs on DUP.

So relatable…

I can very much relate to this. I also think that social media is the reason that comments on any kind of social media platform are dying out. One, because people are too scared of offending absolutely everybody, and two, because in this culture of likes people have forgotten how to talk to other people. They’ve forgotten what real human contact is actually like.

Me, I crave real human interactions.  They are so essential to life. Thank you for reminding us of this with your thoughts.

I am trying to do more reviews myself. I posted about this in the welcome forum. I think part of the challenge with reviewing is that people may not know what to say or fear offending.  Another potential barrier it time-it takes time and effort to create a thoughtful review. In challenging myself to do more reviews, I am finding it is time well spent. I am digging into the work more and learning about writing. Perhaps I can motivate others.

it is very difficult I've been at parties where the people there are not talking face to face but by text... so even given the oppurtunity still prefer to be behind a gadget...I interact plenty with people in my day to day but I am very intense kind of person it can wear you out... so I spread myself around talking to people here and there and on here... I have a husband and a poet crush... I would like to think that my poet crush would be a better match sometimes but I doubt it...it's just things I entertain my husband is a good man...that's my thoughts personal relationships are difficult at times... getting the empty instant gratification is tempting great write ❤️Merry Christmas...

I can be a bit of an intense person as well. I need to work on dialing it back.
