Sadness washes over me

Laying here so sad and alone, it makes my poor heart bleed, sadness washes over me, for a true love I have a need

Someone to spend my life with a love to call my own, to share simple moments with so I'd no longer be alone

To hold tightly in my arms to be entwined in a sweet embrace, to smile at whenever I get to see a smile upon their face

To laugh with or shed a tear, someone to give a goodnight kiss, to have them there when I awake would truly be such bliss

Is it to much to ask the universe to send me someone to fill my empty heart, that certain someone who understands me and gets me from the start

I'm sure they must be out there I wonder do they hope for the same thing, are they looking out there for me wanting all the love I'd bring

Or am I grasping at a dream are all my hopes for love in vain, am I destined for a life of loneliness and hopeful thoughts inside my brain
