Urania's Consecration!
Holding my head as she looked in my eyes
she said they..."looked kind"...as her features blurred,
which is how muses prefer to hypnotize
poets in search of a sacred word.
I saw she had blue eyes and red hair
but more of her visage I could not see
through the aether haze so prevalent there
where she kept safe all latent poetry,
there, upon the walls above the benches;
the marbled glory of all future thought
shining like water for our quenches
with every phoneme the goddesses wrought;
as I, plebeian I, she had allowed...
a rare glimpse of how heaven was endowed.
