Shutting things out
These walls you built so high
enclosing your heart
and all the fears you hide
Shutting things in
all your emotions remain tight
Sealed in the depths of your soul
they’re all just a hidden insight
But wait, within these walls there lies a cost
For love and joy too may be lost
Shutting things in & out
You may have avoided the pain
but what about the loneliness and sorrow
that still remain?
