Autumn Ghost
The berries were in a dark scarlet mood.
Sour gore pierced by beak.
As foliage transforms, the bark broods.
Pinkish purple dawn.
Cotton candy blue day.
Iced cobalt evening.
Midnight grey with burned red twilight.
Onyx autumn night.
Transitions in a final September sky.
A silent glory in my eyes.
There were hovering trees, with ominous and oppressive shadowed leaves
Beyond the haunted sunflower patch.
Feeling devilish,
I open the wrought iron latch.
I had a daunting autumn ghost to catch.
