Tomorrow's Rain

Well, there's a place you hide.
Where your soul abides.
And it's deep inside your heart.

Where you'd take a ride, but your mind confides.
And it's not your pride, it's shame.

You'd rather go to that place called home.
But you just don't know, so you play your card.

When you're lost, unknown, and you're feeling owned.
And you've sold your soul to tomorrow's rain.

It may bring you pain.
You may say it's a shame.
But the fact remains.
You can't buy tomorrow's rain today.

No, I don't believe in the mortal man, or the failing sun, or the master plan.
Where the world will end when I take my stand and die.

But I do believe in the truth and word of the great and mighty, mocked and unheard.
Though I may seem just a little absurd or insane.

At the sound of bells, chimes, or gongs.
I feel it's time to move along.
I have no need to right these wrongs of mine.

Though it isn't very long, I feel my work here is done.
Well it was raining when I wrote this song and called it tomorrow's rain.

It may bring you pain.
You may say it's insane.
But the fact remains.
You can't buy tomorrow's rain today.
