ENGRAVED

You start thinking of the negative
It can't escape you
Just think of that hug from your dad
You had nothing to lose
The way your mother tucked you in
Every single night
Don't think of those mean kids
Being too young to put up a fight
Remember that best friend?
The one that listened
Not about having to stay quiet
While feeling so disciplined
Give yourself a vacation
Right inside your mind
I know the gates are up
You must unlock forward, not rewind
Those low thoughts bring you down
But you forgot about school
Graduated with full pride
Also had fun with breaking some rules
Don't let that crazy time of drinking
Make all your hopes sink and drowned
You might have been pushed
But you don't belong on the ground
Your memory is like metal
So hard to break into
Like how those daisies were yellow
But it was a time to be blue
Don't remind yourself of lost memory
Just work harder, like you can
You're overwhelming yourself
Live in the moment and not by a plan
You never have to thank me
Like I got you through another day
It was you all along
Now you need to scratch off what's bad of the engraved
