The Unknown Hope
She takes his hand
To tell the secrets of the past
He smiled knowing she was wishing
That they could last
The silence takes her away
To a place she sought coming
The song of his arms
Wrapped around her, she started humming
The beauty of the fields
He related it to her
She thought she saw the future
But she wasn't too sure
The smoke of the fire
That burns within the discarded
The spark of confusion
Not knowing where it started

Enjoyed the poem - the hope for a future in contrast to cautionary experiences of the past. The strength to move forward and seek a relationship instead of sitting on the sidelines to protect from being hurt.
