Footprints

I tried to do right by you
and to see this thing through

But, my Baby all you do
is paint my soul a midnight blue

I wanted to make it to the 15th round
but, everyday I cry enough tears to drown

I am sad we have to  part
but, I'm tired of your footprints on my heart

For us I had a master plan
with me as your lover man

But, honey you  turned cold as a hard frost
and the crop that was our love we lost

At night I turn and toss
over this terrible  lost

I am sad we have to part
but I'm tired of your footprints on my heart
