Empower the Inner Light

In realms of religion where preachings reside,
A notion stirs that I can't abide.
To deny oneself, a voice unheard,
No self-love, no credit, self-denial, it’s absurd.

They say, give credit where it's due,
To a higher power, to skies so blue.
But can we genuinely love anything else?
Without self-love, we're not our best.

What is left without self-love?
A bond born from wounds and pain,
Toxic ties that leave a stain.
Makes one easy to control on a puppet's string,
Without self-love, you are on a swing.

The key, you see, is love within,
To break away from a cult-like din.
Hold onto your power, strong and true,
For self-love should guide all that we do.
