Pick Up the Pieces
Who are you to judge me so?
It’s easy to say forgive and let things go
There’s a gnawing grip on my heart
One wrong move and it’ll be torn apart.
-
It’s up to me to pick up the pieces
No one else will do it for me
Only I can silence my inner demons
And bless my mind with much needed peace.
-
You have no right to speak so easily
When you horde resources greedily
They say the quiet ones have plenty to say
I will not grant you the warmth of the sun’s rays.
-
It’s up to me to pick up the pieces
Of what remains of my broken heart
They say the quiet ones have plenty of secrets
But for this mess we’re in we’ve all played a part.
