Waiting.

If I were to count all the hours
I'd spent waiting on you,
I'd have enough days
To make a full moon.

If I were to count all the minutes
I was standing alone,
Checking for texts,
Ringing you on the phone.

If I were to count the seconds
I'll keep hanging around,
Never complaining,
Never making a sound.

If I were to count the days,
You'd rescheduled on me,
At the last minute,
I'd go crazy.

If I were to take it personally,
I'd lose my best friend.
As it happens, it's part of you,
Even if I'm starting to go round the bend.
