don't think they won't

 



just when you think
       that powers and
          and principalities
              cannot take one
                  more pound of
flesh

they
do

right when you believe
  there isn't another drop
    of blood to be siphoned
      from your barely beating
heart

they push the
needle in a
little deeper

and if your flesh
    and blood isn't
enough

they will go after
     your soft white
bones

and finally...

your human
              spirit
