Detox

Aimless in my conquest for gold
Their potion became my crutch
Have I forgotten flavor of water
Or has it cursed me so?

I slump out craving slushed courage
Leaving me begging for more
Have I lost touch with my inner garden
Prayed for rain but it won't

In light of my own destruction
An addiction nurtured
Has seeped its way through my dirty attire
Dug past veins, hitting bone

Have I washed away further
Down this endless stream of ancestral war?
