Approval
I must fight for this,
Make something worth the effort.
I crave the attention,
I crave the responses from others.
Those I know,
And those I don’t.
Even those I hate,
Must pay attention to me.
I NEED it.
I carve my mind to gain,
To gain others approval.
To gain the hearts and the comments.
I need it ALL.
All of it is mine.
I am a trainwreck,
Plastered across the news.
I am the manipulator,
The one who gaslights,
And for what?
For everyone’s GOD DAMN approval…

Perhaps the only valid approval you need is the one you give yourself.................though reconnaissance from others is akways a plus.
