The Theoretical Garden
A swathe of colours
Lay before me
On the ground, The trees, and the sky
The soft sun
Glimmered through
The dusty billowing clouds
Streaking across the undulating meadows
Birdsong resounding
Within the wavering trees
Bejewelled by emerald leaves
And skitting around
Through this enchanted tapestry
Fairies flew
Some riding on the backs of dragonflies
Darting, hither, and thither
Silken wings shimmering
Under the soft subtle rays
Of a slowly diminishing sun
The twilight came
This thief
Betwixt night, and day
Was here to steal the light away
The night blew in
Like a quickening breeze
As the shadows fell
Over, and under the trees
As the flowers of the day
Rested their weary heads
To sleep amongst the flower beds
The garden fell into an enchantment
As the magic of the night
Arrived
At the passing of the mystical twilight
