all of my shadows shine brighter with the sun rise
all of my sins show clearer through the devil's eyes

broken prayers, screaming at the sky
cursing christ for the mercy betrayed by the lack of forgiveness
his children keep taking away from me
falling away from the grace they promised every morning
filled with so many lessons, i've long since forgotten
with the years, gone by, loving, losing, tormenting

all the tomorrows they warned us we might not be able to borrow
all the lessons they taught, soon forgotten with the truth of sorrow
the promises of grace and mercy, their preaching of forgiveness
