Morality for a Digital Age in an Indivisible Reality

Reality has a bound, physics shows us so
Our dreams of analog have given way to the discrete
Quanta are everywhere, the specks of reality
They swell, quiver, and blend by a shore of nothing

But these specks also trace the line of what is real
Beyond this bound there is only chance and naught
These things we can not see, sense or touch
Yet these things mould the way we love and dance

Perhaps it’s no wonder that our lives are digital
Made of packets, bits, and bytes
Our reality, social and cultural ties are vital
Like the specks below our perception and lights

Religions, nations, and tribes can not steer us
Through the waves of quanta above and below
The storm is coming and Humanity needs a creed thus
To find its safe harbour, its healing before our voyage to the stars

Humanity has wondered about the meaning of life
We can not wait to debate any more
We must decide what meaning we want to give to our strife
And then live together with passion and explore

We must balance the individual and collective
Know what is divisible and what is one
We must ensure all voices are heard and active
But that no voices oppress or shun

The universe is vast, and the quanta are endless
We can create a framework for all beings to flourish
With which they can tell their story with spirit
And with which all may bring our dreams to accomplish
