In The Name Of....
it's a quest
a fantastic voyage
a pilgrimage
if you will
...
with pen in hand
i seek new avenues
of conveyance
with artistry as my
1st commandment
...
if it's not done with passion what's the point?
...
thus I
pursue passion with perspective
harness wisdom's perceptive eye
as I try to
translate the soul
ART-iculate the mind
dare the conscious
be bold
take chances
life can be ordinary
ART
must be extra-ordinary
in order to conjure
to evoke
to excavate
to..
escape
no artist has ever really settled
themselves completely
in this reality
limits must be pushed
sensibilities must be nudged
there can be no
comfort zone
in this refuge
where family and friends
refuse to visit
it ain't their thang
and it's ok
so I remain
an enigma
amongst my loved ones
sometimes feeling
ostracized
isolated
exiled
living a nomadic existence
in my own neighborhood
fine by me
a loner at heart I am
for I am a true believer
imagination is power
imagination is freedom
and every time I pick up this pen
I know that I am
fighting for my freedom
and I am always willing to join forces
with other freedom fighters
all in the name of....

Have you ever had times where you did not write.?.

About the age of fifteen...
I had a terrible car crash a few years after starting writing...
And in that time I couldn't stop writing...
The accident was in May...
I couldn't write that whole summer...
I spent a lot of time in the sun, by the waves...
I had this recurring idea, or, vision...
The window to the surface of the sea...
Like I was in these beautiful depths, reaching forth for the light at the surface...
Having the ability to sort of, explore every level of these depths...
But there were no words...
I thought I would never write again...
It was the most terrible feeling in the world...
But then it's like...
Can you even feel a broken heart...
Truly...
Another thing this brings to mind is the idea of:
The evolution of our thoughts and emotions, regarding the past.

Oh yes, a thousand times yes! My poet/musician heart feels so alien amongst the people who just don't go that deep.... thanks for being one of the freedom fighters out there - it makes me feel less alone in my quest to release imagination and passion. I feel this one - keeping it on my shelf.
