A Dragons Lament

Ive suddenly awakened
As a sleeping dragon
With no flames to breathe
Charcoaled words
Smouldering whispers
Like a fallen Autumn leaf

I soar above the billowing clouds
The lightning
In my breath
My heart is thunder
My words alight
My gold is my coming death

My scaly skin
And awesome wings
Reflect upon the moon
Casting shadows
All asunder
Writ quickly upon the Rune

And so i become
No more
Than myth
My dragon dreams
And firey breath
Fall into the dark abyss

So here i dwell
Within my nightmare hell
As i spread my wings out wide
I ponder upon
My golden hoard
No more shall i chide
As i'm now dead inside
