Happy poem?

Sitting at the table with other students I barely knew
My short dark curls bouncing as I looked up to see the new transfer student
What would he be like? Would he be cruel like so many or unseen like others
Like myself..
You walked in,blue eyes having a glaze over them because the drugs had a hold on you
Sitting across from me my heart jumped in my chest but I could not figure out
  Why
Months go by and I learn the secrets you try to keep hidden
I learned how high I could feel near you
How you could make me smile when tears were about to flow over
But I also knew of the darkness that flooded through your mind
It was like watching a two headed snake poison itself
I watched as you struggled to break free of your demons
And how they almost won
As we grew closer my feelings for you started to blossom
I forced myself to ignore them for at the time you were someone else's
But as things faded out we started to fade in
A week together day and night proved to me we could stand each other
The first time you held me in your warm embrace
And the first time you held my hand making butterflies flutter in my stomach
You asked me out and I replied with a yes
Months went by and you helped me learn and grow
I became a better person thanks to you
You helped me Fight my demons though at times it seems you don't help at all
You taught me to love others more than I thought was possible
Everything I gave you I will never regret
Because they helped shape me into who I am
 And for that,my love
I say thank you
