A bond in Hamburg

As I was sitting on a parc bench by the Elbe
And watching the ducks go by
One of them suddenly came up the riverbank
And made its way directly in front of me.

Stayed right there for a good minute or three
A huge zen moment I dare say

No lively conversation
No quacking around
Just a silent bond between Duck and Man

Then he went along  on his daily walk.

Author's Note
PS;  later I remembered about my father and his collection of hand-carved wooded ducks.  Superb ones with emerald green plumes.   This one was gracious enough in whites and browns.
